More Troops

25cooperlarge1

As the President gets America geared up for sending more troops into battle………  and we are told He is thinking about it for now…  it seems to me that his mind was most likely made up well before now… even though we have not received an official announcement that more troops will be sent in harms way.  Just seems to me that this whole thinking about sending troops thing… is just a tactic in getting America used to the idea before he makes the announcement.

We need to control that region (middle east) and the war on terror was brought about in order to accomplish this task.

I just wish that we could see the light of day in the Afghanistan War.  We are a long way off.

The cost…  Human lives and a lot of money.

cost-of-war-in-iraq-and-afghanistan

The benefit…  American global leadership will be assured for the next century… the New American Century.

How long will this take?    long time.

Could America have chosen a different path to achieve global success for the next century?    I sure would think so.

Did Americans have a choice in this matter? of course not… although American resources were used to facilitate the project for the New American Century.

Once set in motion… there was…and is…. no looking back.

Theological exploitation.  Demonize the enemy.

War without end.

Fascism chokes the breath of humanity.

I am for keeping America safe.  And my hopes and thoughts are with all who put there life at risk for me and my fellow Americans… not to mention all of humanity… who benefit by American success with the war on terrorism.

If the Obama administration would map out the objectives for gaining the advantage in Afghanistan and the war on terror to the American people where we at least can be comforted by some sort of progress… I would feel better about sending more of our friends and family into harms way.

I recommend reading this file : Rebuilding America’s Defenses pdf.   It will give you an idea of what the Bush administration was trying to do… and will give insight on American global objectives that directly relates to this subject.  This was written before 911.

man made madness

pig-flu

I find it mind blowing to think about all these cases of swine flu that have and are popping up around us considering……  the virus is most likely MAN MADE.  That’s right.  Humanity has sure gotten itself sick.  There are reports now that it might have came from Asia instead of Mexico… after finding a sister virus….but there is absolutely no evidence to suggest this is the case.

What they do think is… it is highly likely this was man made one way or another.  Dirty conditions at a pig farm is the most accepted origin. Some say out of a lab for profit. Others go as far to blame bioterrorism….. which I find a bit extreme.

When you think about the pig farm and its obvious disregard to public safety…..  you realize real quickly that this most likely would have never happened if the farm was operating with the same health standards that the United States requires in it’s country.  Sure…through NAFTA they are required to have clean pig farms.  At least you would think so anyway.

The point I am getting at here is… if the darn virus originated from a pig farm…. it just goes to show you what man can cause just so they can save money and gain profit.  Humanity (as a whole)  has become physically ill due to greed.   NAFTA doesn't just kill too many jobs in America… it breeds bad factory and farm conditions in third world countries that can in turn breed virus’s that kill and give humanity one nasty flu.  The NAFTA Flu.

NAFTA's misplaced priority on profits over human health in the context of a globalized world possibly led to the global spread of the swine flu.

that to me… is mind blowing

What then is truth?

Truth

What then is truth? A mobile army of metaphors, metonyms, and anthropomorphisms -- in short, a sum of human relations, which have been enhanced, transposed, and embellished poetically and rhetorically, and which after long use seem firm, canonical, and obligatory to a people: truths are illusions about which one has forgotten that is what they are; metaphors which are worn out and without sensuous power; coins which have lost their pictures and now matter only as metal, no longer as coins.
We still do not know where the urge for truth comes from; for as yet we have heard only of the obligation imposed by society that it should exist: to be truthful means using the customary metaphors - in moral terms, the obligation to lie according to fixed convention, to lie herd-like in a style obligatory for all...

What's up with people dying suddenly like this?  Maybe it was an accident.  Or maybe a murder cover up.  I found this article and thought i would share it with you. hope your week end was a pleasant one for you and yours.

A Florida billionaire who was a top beneficiary of Bernard Madoff's $65bn (£40bn) Ponzi scheme has died, apparently by drowning in the swimming pool of his mansion in the exclusive seaside enclave of Palm Beach.

Jeffry Picower, 67, was found by his wife and housekeeper shortly after midday on Sunday. Emergency services were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the Good Samaritan medical centre.

An accountant turned wealthy investor, Picower was a friend of Madoff's and was named in court papers as the biggest beneficiary of returns from the Wall Street fraudster's corrupt investment empire.

Oldest Skeleton of Human Ancestor Found

Quote

Oldest Skeleton of Human Ancestor Found

Jamie Shreeve
Science editor, National Geographic magazine
October 1, 2009

Move over, Lucy. And kiss the missing link goodbye.

Scientists today announced the discovery of the oldest fossil skeleton of a human ancestor. The find reveals that our forebears underwent a previously unknown stage of evolution more than a million years before Lucy, the iconic early human ancestor specimen that walked the Earth 3.2 million years ago.

Oldest human skeleton ardi missing link chimps ardipithecus ramidus picture

The centerpiece of a treasure trove of new fossils, the skeleton—assigned to a species called Ardipithecus ramidus—belonged to a small-brained, 110-pound (50-kilogram) female nicknamed "Ardi."

The fossil puts to rest the notion, popular since Darwin's time, that a chimpanzee-like missing link—resembling something between humans and today's apes—would eventually be found at the root of the human family tree. Indeed, the new evidence suggests that the study of chimpanzee anatomy and behavior—long used to infer the nature of the earliest human ancestors—is largely irrelevant to understanding our beginnings.

Ardi instead shows an unexpected mix of advanced characteristics and of primitive traits seen in much older apes that were unlike chimps or gorillas (interactive: Ardi's key features). As such, the skeleton offers a window on what the last common ancestor of humans and living apes might have been like.

Announced at joint press conferences in Washington, D.C., and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the analysis of the Ardipithecus ramidus bones will be published in a collection of papers tomorrow in a special edition of the journal Science, along with an avalanche of supporting materials published online.

"This find is far more important than Lucy," said Alan Walker, a paleontologist from Pennsylvania State University who was not part of the research. "It shows that the last common ancestor with chimps didn't look like a chimp, or a human, or some funny thing in between." (Related: "Oldest Homo Sapiens Fossils Found, Experts Say" [June 11, 2003].)

Ardi Surrounded by Family

The Ardipithecus ramidus fossils were discovered in Ethiopia's harsh Afar desert at a site called Aramis in the Middle Awash region, just 46 miles (74 kilometers) from where Lucy's species, Australopithecus afarensis, was found in 1974. Radiometric dating of two layers of volcanic ash that tightly sandwiched the fossil deposits revealed that Ardi lived 4.4 million years ago.

Older hominid fossils have been uncovered, including a skull from Chad at least six million years old and some more fragmentary, slightly younger remains from

Roman Polanski

Apparently it cost $500,000 after settlement of civil suit for lacing a 13 year old with sedatives during her photo shoot and ending up with six felony counts, including rape by use of drugs, child molesting and sodomy.

What a loser this film director Roman Polanski is.  Money and class can get you a long ways.  Ask O.J. Simpson and from what I hear he most likely wont even pay it.  His past history suggest this.

Demoncat told us about this ongoing Hollywood horror... which is how I found out about it.

Roman Polanski had escaped justice and didn’t even want to do his few days in jail, when he deserves to go away a very long time, and hasn't really dealt with this since 1977.

I guess he directed the movie The Pianist…  which I thought he did a good job making it.  He should have been in prison..instead of making the darn movie.  I cant stand rapo's.

So Cold by: Breaking Benjamin (w/lyrics)

Since then they have shown they will be around a long time to come because their talent is undeniable.  Commercial main stream rock style.  Not the heaviest…. but it’s still aggressive.  I’m sure most of you will pass on this musical madness.  But for the few curious rockers out there or You who just wants to hear it again…

public option or corporate option

Quote

The manifest failure of the present health care system in the US—which leaves some 50 million people (one sixth of the population) without any form of insurance—is precisely due to the subordination of health care to private profit.

The scrapping of the public option is one more indication of the reactionary character of the entire health care overhaul. The provision of quality health care as a basic human right is incompatible with a system based on corporate profit and administered by a political establishment beholden to a financial oligarchy.

The Obama administration has indicated that it will not insist on a “public option” as part of its overhaul of the US health care system. The move signals the abandonment of the only fig leaf of “reform” in the administration’s cost-cutting health care scheme. It represents a complete capitulation to the insurance industry, which lobbied intensively against any government-run insurance plan.”

The dropping of the public option only underscores the fact that the terms of the health care overhaul are being dictated by the insurance industry, the big hospital chains and the pharmaceutical companies. Obama himself in earlier statements and press conferences declared that a public insurance option was essential to rein in the insurance companies and prevent them from gouging the public.

The fight for a health care system that corresponds to the needs of the population requires a political struggle against the capitalist profit system and the two parties of big business that defend it. more

NO REMORSE

NO REMORSE

No mercy for what we're doing
No thought to even what we have done
We don't need to feel the sorrow
No remorse for the helpless one

No remorse, no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day, another death
Another sorrow, another breath
War without end

Blood feeds the war machine
As it eats a way across the land
We don't need to feel the sorrow
No remorse is the one command

Only the strong survive
No will to save the weaker race
We are ready to kill all comers
Like a loaded gun right at your face

War Without End

No remorse, no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day, another death
Another sorrow, another breath

Attack!

Bullets are flying
People are dying
With madness surrounding,
all hell's breaking loose
Soldiers are hounding
Bodies are mounting
Cannons are shouting to take their abuse

With war machines going
Blood starts to flowing
No mercy given to anyone here
The furious fighting
Swords are like lighting
It all becomes frightening,
you know death is near

No remorse

American Fascism

The Danger of American Fascism

This article, written in 1944, must be compared to the situation today in the US. Wallace defines fascist as one whose lust for money and power is combined with such intense intolerance for other races, parties, classes, religions, culture, regions or nations as to make him ruthless.

by Henry A. Wallace - The New York Times

Truth Out Editor's Note: This story ran in the New York Times in 1944. Draw your own conclusions and compare Henry Wallace's analysis to the situation we find ourselves in today.
The Danger of American Fascism

Sunday 09 April 1944

On returning from my trip to the West in February, I received a request from The New York Times to write a piece answering the following questions:

What is a fascist?
How many fascists have we?
How dangerous are they?

A fascist is one whose lust for money or power is combined with such an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations as to make him ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends. The supreme god of a fascist, to which his ends are directed, may be money or power; may be a race or a class; may be a military, clique or an economic group; or may be a culture, religion, or a political party.

The perfect type of fascist throughout recent centuries has been the Prussian Junker, who developed such hatred for other races and such allegiance to a military clique as to make him willing at all times to engage in any degree of deceit and violence necessary to place his culture and race astride the world. In every big nation of the world are at least a few people who have the fascist temperament. Every Jew-baiter, every Catholic hater, is a fascist at heart. The hoodlums who have been desecrating churches, cathedrals and synagogues in some of our larger cities are ripe material for fascist leadership.

The obvious types of American fascists are dealt with on the air and in the press. These demagogues and stooges are fronts for others. Dangerous as these people may be, they are not so significant as thousands of other people who have never been mentioned. The really dangerous American fascists are not those who are hooked up directly or indirectly with the Axis. The FBI has its finger on those. The dangerous American fascist is the man who wants to do in the United States in an American way what Hitler did in Germany in a Prussian way. The American fascist would prefer not to use violence. His method is to poison the channels of public information. With a fascist the problem is never how best to present the truth to the public but how best to use the news to deceive the public into giving the fascist and his group more money or more power.

If we define an American fascist as one who in case of conflict puts money and power ahead of human beings, then there are undoubtedly several million fascists in the United States. There are probably several hundred thousand if we narrow the definition to include only those who in their search for money and power are ruthless and deceitful. Most American fascists are enthusiastically supporting the war effort. They are doing this even in those cases where they hope to have profitable connections with German chemical firms after the war ends. They are patriotic in time of war because it is to their interest to be so, but in time of peace they follow power and the dollar wherever they may lead.

American fascism will not be really dangerous until there is a purposeful coalition among the cartelists, the deliberate poisoners of public information, and those who stand for the K.K.K. type of demagoguery.

The European brand of fascism will probably present its most serious postwar threat to us via Latin America. The effect of the war has been to raise the cost of living in most Latin American countries much faster than the wages of labor. The fascists in most Latin American countries tell the people that the reason their wages will not buy as much in the way of goods is because of Yankee imperialism. The fascists in Latin America learn to speak and act like natives. Our chemical and other manufacturing concerns are all too often ready to let the Germans have Latin American markets, provided the American companies can work out an arrangement which will enable them to charge high prices to the consumer inside the United States. Following this war, technology will have reached such a point that it will be possible for Germans, using South America as a base, to cause us much more difficulty in World War III than they did in World War II. The military and landowning cliques in many South American countries will find it attractive financially to work with German fascist concerns as well as expedient from the standpoint of temporary power politics.

Fascism is a worldwide disease. Its greatest threat to the United States will come after the war, either via Latin America or within the United States itself.

Still another danger is represented by those who, paying lip service to democracy and the common welfare, in their insatiable greed for money and the power which money gives, do not hesitate surreptitiously to evade the laws designed to safeguard the public from monopolistic extortion. American fascists of this stamp were clandestinely aligned with their German counterparts before the war, and are even now preparing to resume where they left off, after "the present unpleasantness" ceases:

The symptoms of fascist thinking are colored by environment and adapted to immediate circumstances. But always and everywhere they can be identified by their appeal to prejudice and by the desire to play upon the fears and vanities of different groups in order to gain power. It is no coincidence that the growth of modern tyrants has in every case been heralded by the growth of prejudice. It may be shocking to some people in this country to realize that, without meaning to do so, they hold views in common with Hitler when they preach discrimination against other religious, racial or economic groups. Likewise, many people whose patriotism is their proudest boast play Hitler's game by retailing distrust of our Allies and by giving currency to snide suspicions without foundation in fact.

The American fascists are most easily recognized by their deliberate perversion of truth and fact. Their newspapers and propaganda carefully cultivate every fissure of disunity, every crack in the common front against fascism. They use every opportunity to impugn democracy. They use isolationism as a slogan to conceal their own selfish imperialism. They cultivate hate and distrust of both Britain and Russia. They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution. They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest. Their final objective toward which all their deceit is directed is to capture political power so that, using the power of the state and the power of the market simultaneously, they may keep the common man in eternal subjection.

Several leaders of industry in this country who have gained a new vision of the meaning of opportunity through co-operation with government have warned the public openly that there are some selfish groups in industry who are willing to jeopardize the structure of American liberty to gain some temporary advantage. We all know the part that the cartels played in bringing Hitler to power, and the rule the giant German trusts have played in Nazi conquests. Monopolists who fear competition and who distrust democracy because it stands for equal opportunity would like to secure their position against small and energetic enterprise.  An effort to eliminate the possibility of any rival growing up, some monopolists would sacrifice democracy itself.

It has been claimed at times that our modern age of technology facilitates dictatorship. What we must understand is that the industries, processes, and inventions created by modern science can be used either to subjugate or liberate. The choice is up to us. The myth of fascist efficiency has deluded many people. It was Mussolini's vaunted claim that he "made the trains run on time." In the end, however, he brought to the Italian people impoverishment and defeat. It was Hitler's claim that he eliminated all unemployment in Germany. Neither is there unemployment in a prison camp.

Democracy to crush fascism internally must demonstrate its capacity to "make the trains run on time." It must develop the ability to keep people fully employed and at the same time balance the budget. It must put human beings first and dollars second. It must appeal to reason and decency and not to violence and deceit. We must not tolerate oppressive government or industrial oligarchy in the form of monopolies and cartels. As long as scientific research and inventive ingenuity outran our ability to devise social mechanisms to raise the living standards of the people, we may expect the liberal potential of the United States to increase. If this liberal potential is properly channeled, we may expect the area of freedom of the United States to increase. The problem is to spend up our rate of social invention in the service of the welfare of all the people. The worldwide, age-long struggle between fascism and democracy will not stop when the fighting ends in Germany and Japan. Democracy can win the peace only if it does two things:

Speeds up the rate of political and economic inventions so that both production and, especially, distribution can match in their power and practical effect on the daily life of the common man the immense and growing volume of scientific research, mechanical invention and management technique. Vivifies with the greatest intensity the spiritual processes which are both the foundation and the very essence of democracy.

The moral and spiritual aspects of both personal and international relationships have a practical bearing which so-called practical men deny. This dullness of vision regarding the importance of the general welfare to the individual is the measure of the failure of our schools and churches to teach the spiritual significance of genuine democracy. Until democracy in effective enthusiastic action fills the vacuum created by the power of modern inventions, we may expect the fascists to increase in power after the war both in the United States and in the world.

Fascism in the postwar inevitably will push steadily for Anglo-Saxon imperialism and eventually for war with Russia. Already American fascists are talking and writing about this conflict and using it as an excuse for their internal hatreds and intolerances toward certain races, creeds and classes.

It should also be evident that exhibitions of the native brand of fascism are not confined to any single section, class or religion. Happily, it can be said that as yet fascism has not captured a predominant place in the outlook of any American section, class or religion. It may be encountered in Wall Street, Main Street or Tobacco Road. Some even suspect that they can detect incipient traces of it along the Potomac. It is an infectious disease, and we must all be on our guard against intolerance, bigotry and the pretension of invidious distinction. But if we put our trust in the common sense of common men and "with malice toward none and charity for all" go forward on the great adventure of making political, economic and social democracy a practical reality, we shall not fail.

The beauty in dying

Some of these nursing homes, especially the ones tailored more for the soon to die loved ones, are fixed up really nice.  The landscaping is superb.  Everything is as tranquil as possible.  To a degree I am sure it is effective in setting a more positive mood for the dying.  However…. .. they fix these places up more to hide the guilt that one receives while they try to make the decision to leave there loved ones there to die.

Philosophy of life quotes: stoicism, epicurism, taoism...

Philosophy of life quotes: stoicism, epicurism, taoism...

The life of the folly is empty of gratitude, full of anxiety, all of it focused in the ghosts of the future.
Epicurus, 341-270 b.C., Greek philosopher, Letter to Meneoceus

We must heal our misfortunes by the grateful recollection of what has been and by the recognition that it is impossible to make undone what has been done.
Epicurus, 341-270 b.C., Greek philosopher, The Extant Remains

Overlook what tomorrow may bring, and count as profit every day that Fate allows.

 Horace , 65-8 a. C., Roman poet, Odes

Believe each day that has dawned is your last, and some hour for which you haven’t been expecting will prove lovely.

 Horace , 65-8 a. C., Roman poet, Epistles

Everything that will happen belongs to the domain of the uncertain. Live now.

Seneca, in Andre Comte-Sponville, The Little Book of Philosophy, Vintage

Projecting our thoughts far ahead of us, instead of adapting ourselves to the present, is cause of fear. Foresight, the greatest blessing humanity has been given, is also a curse.
Seneca , Roman philosopher and politician, Letters to Lucilius

What’s the good of dragging up sufferings which are over, or of being unhappy now just because you were then? (…) When troubles come to an end, the natural thing is to be glad.

Seneca, Roman philosopher and politician, Letters to Lucilius

Wild animals run from the dangers they actually see, and once they have escaped them worry no more. We however are tormented alike by what is past and what is to come.
Seneca, Roman philosopher and politician, Letters to Lucilius

A number of our blessings do us harm, for memory brings back the agony of fear, while foresight brings it on prematurely. No one confines his unhappiness to the present.
Seneca, Roman philosopher and politician, Letters to Lucilius

Those who are contented and at ease with the moment, those who live in accord with the course of Nature, cannot be affected by sorrow or joy. That’s what the ancients called release from bondage.
Chuang-Tzu, Taoist thinker, century III or II b. C., Book of Chuang-Tzu

Your life is not lying in wait in the future like a wild animal or some ominous destiny. Nor is it hidden in the heavens, like a paradise or promise. Nor is it shut up in the cave or the prison of your past. It is here and now; it is what you live and what you do. At the heart of being; at the heart of the present; at the heart of everything – in the great current of life, of reality.

Andre Comte-Sponville, French philosopher, The Little Book of Philosophy

Overcome

Overcome

lyrics by: All that Remains

264494

Past it haunts again
The dream's alive
And forms the nightmare that has no end
Foreshadow all tomorrows
So this day to day has my core shaken
Still I raise my spirits high
I am above this

lost_soul

I should never have thought that
This would never end
The moment we started
Old wounds you could not mend

LostSoul...

Five ended today
Six since the four time take away
My dreams have fallen
No more to share
Now the end remains
MY one regret like black and stained
And spring again
I fall from grace

6401434-lg

The fear was too much for us to battle
So this day to day has my core shaken
Still I raise my spirits high
I am above this

Falling-from-Grace-email

I should never have thought that
This would never end
The moment we started
Old wounds you could not mend

The fear was too much for us to battle

----------------------

What do you really expect from me? You do not want to run into my arms. Do you want money…is that all it is?  Have some respect for the past. Do you not care about the wounds?  I wanted nothing more…than to be with you for the rest of my life.  You left me to fall.  Now how can I fix your pain?

I got da corporate blues

1259

Ok so we keep hearing this nonsense about socialized medicine….socialism… a scare tactic that isn't even true.  Yet at the same time because they want to keep government out and free trade in we continue to see the American dream vanish for more and more Americans.

Fine we will just continue this fleecing of America and let us lose all of the manufacturing jobs and continue to pay higher and higher income taxes while they keep pushing the free market of miracles.  This way their corporate friends can move away out of America… TAX FREE and leave us behind. Paying our corporate healthcare bills..which we do not have the money to pay.

I heard right now in America, every 30 days, a million people will go bankrupt due to healthcare bills.

They want to continue the failed corporate healthcare system we are stuck with today and yet offer no real solutions when we MUST have one.  How do they combat the liberals and all the millions and millions of republicans who actually want it? They use the same old socialism fear tactics they have been using since the witch hunt of the communist back in the day, which perhaps needed to be done but they wont let it go.

If they had it their way…everything would be corporate.  To the moon Alice!  Us going to the moon, a government run program by the way….. would have ended with a Pepsi billboard left on the surface.  I don't think that would be all that bad….I could live with that….compared to what I see to day from unregulated free market.

So they have turned the word socialism into totalitarianism socialism which is actually a totally different ball game.

Don't they know anything else beside fear?  They use it to control.  And the flock always responds.

Look I just don't see us turning into communist ok…and i know..I know… they are being sneaky about it right?  Its just a program!  And it needs to be done! (government healthcare option).  What about Social security? Did we need it?  Are we communist now?  What are we just going to continue to hear “NO” for anything and everything the liberals try to do to help Americans…when NOBODY else is helping them?

Don’t worry…I will just keep praying.

Thank you for letting me vent some.

Have an absolutely wonderful week!

History of Moral Sensation

I found this to be very interesting.  Why not give it a peak.  Would love to hear your opinion about it.

recycled-condoms%20copia

No… it is not about condoms… which might be moral or immoral and have sensation or no sensation.  These happen to be recycled. How nice.
